"Professional Floating Residential Sheet Vinyl Seam Tape"

FuseMax® 2.0 Seam Reinforcement Engineered for Floating Residential Sheet Vinyl Flooring

FuseMax® 2.0 is a patented (USA & Canada), professional-grade vinyl seam tape designed specifically for floating residential sheet vinyl installations.

It reinforces seams from below, improves alignment during install, supports same-day heat or chemical welding, and helps protect against moisture, detergents, and seam failure.

Built for installers who demand speed, precision, and long-term performance.

Why FuseMax® 2.0 Matters

Floating sheet vinyl floors are only as strong as their seams.

Traditional seam methods rely heavily on surface welding alone. When seams shift, curl, or
weaken over time, the result is callbacks, moisture intrusion, and costly repairs.

FuseMax® 2.0 reinforces the seam from beneath — providing structural support, accurate placement, and added protection.

FuseMax® 2.0 — How does it work?

Surface Preparation:

Ensure the floor and edges are clean, dry, and free of dust, paint overspray, or
debris. Floors must be flat to ensure proper lay and adhesion.

Tools & Materials:

  • FuseMax® 2.0 Advanced Vinyl Seam Tape

  • Utility knife or shears

  • J-roller or hand roller

  • Tape measure and pencil

  • Clean cloth or shop vac

  • Rolls or Planks of Luxury Vinyl Tiles

* Installation Notes:

  • Apply at temperatures between 50–95°F (10–35°C).

  • Do not install on damp or dusty surfaces.

  • For long runs, install in continuous lengths without stretching.

Step 1 — Dry-fit and align vinyl sheet or panels.

  • Overlap: Lay your first sheet, then overlap the second sheet by roughly 2 inches.

  • Pattern Match: Shift the top sheet until the patterns align perfectly.

  • Double-Cut: Use a sharp utility knife and straight edge to cut through both layers at once. This ensures the edges meet with zero gap.

Step 2 — Position FuseMax® 2.0 centered beneath the seam.

  • Center: Fold back both edges of the vinyl (about 6–8 inches).

  • Placement: Apply the FuseMax® 2.0 seam tape to the subfloor, centering it exactly where the two sheets or panels will meet.

Step 3 — Remove the fluorosilicone release liner.

  • Peel: Remove the clear protective liner from the top of the tape to expose the adhesive.

  • Bond: Lay the first panel down onto the tape, followed by the second. Ensure the edges are butted tightly against each other with no "V-gap" or overlap.

Step 4 — Press flooring firmly into the adhesive.

  • Push the flooring on to the FuseMax Tape

  • Make sure there are no gaps between the panels or vinyl sheets

Step 6 — Proceed with heat or chemical welding if required.

  • Seal: To make the joint waterproof, apply a thin bead of liquid seam sealer (chemical weld) along the joint.

  • Cleanup: Immediately wipe any excess liquid with a clean, damp cloth.

Roll seam with mini roller step 6.jpg

Step 5 — Roll the seam area for full contact.

  • Adhesion: Use a hand roller or a heavy steel seam roller to press the vinyl firmly into the tape.

  • Technique: Roll from the center of the seam outward to remove any trapped air.
